Weld Testing

Welding codes have become very complex.  Many new alloys and duplex materials have been introduced into service.  Large and small organizations are turning to STL for preparation of welding procedures, performing experimental welds and testing the

ability of their production welders.  Testing is performed to applicable ASME/ANSI, AWS, ABS and NACE codes.  Our extensive code library is regularly updated.  All activities are conducted under the supervision of AWS Certified Welding Inspectors.  The welding center contains 3 test booths.  All the welding machines are calibrated.  A custom designed computer program is used to write procedures and facilitate recall activities.  This allows test results and certifications to be issued promptly. Our CWI staff is also available for site supervision, testing and inspection activities.

We also offer a mail in weld coupon testing program.  This program allows your welders to stay on site and test with their own equipment.  This saves travel time and additional expenses and puts the welder back into production sooner.  We can fabricate the coupons and ship them to your location or you may fabricate your own.  Depending on the type of testing involved, we can normally provide results within 2 to 3 working days from the date of receipt.
